ÖKT 2021 English
We hope that you, like us, are looking forward to the 3rd Ecumenical Kirchentag (ÖKT) in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. We warmly welcome our international guests!
From 12 to 16 May 2021 we invite everyone to take part in a variety of individual events – discussing, praying, celebrating with others. The motto of the ÖKT is schaut hin (take a look) (Mark 6:38). This will inspire us to look together at where we need to take responsibility, take action and change things.

Owing to the coronavirus pandemic there are currently many points of uncertainty. We assume, however, that the 3rd Ecumenical Kirchentag will take place. The current situation does not permit us to forecast exactly what it will look like. By autumn the governing bodies – the Joint Management Board, Joint Presidium and Supervisory Board – will deliberate on how the ÖKT can be carried out, and then take a decision based on the latest findings. We will bear the responsibility for making the 3rd ÖKT a safe event for all contributors and participants. We want to act with hope and courage, and not from a spirit of uncertainty. The current debates show the great need for dialogue, political debate, culture, spirituality and encounter. As the lay organisation behind the ÖKT, we wish to make a decisive contribution and send a message of hope.
In this section, you will receive information on the preparation for the 3rd Eucumenical Kirchentag as soon as these are known.
